Celebrating Women’s History Month

This Women's History Month, 3.1 Phillip Lim proudly celebrates the power, resilience, and creativity of women in our community with #31Women—a campaign dedicated to amplifying the voices of inspiring women in the 3.1 world.

As a brand rooted in purpose, co-founded by a woman and 100% woman owned, we are committed to fostering meaningful conversations and championing the current and next generation of global citizens, curious adventurers and changemakers.

Throughout the month, we will highlight trailblazers across different industries, share their stories, and invite you to join the dialogue.

Marquita's journey into breathwork and coaching began as a deeply personal path to healing. Raised by a single mother, she was inspired by her mother’s commitment to service through her work with non-profits and volunteer efforts. At 15, Marquita embarked on a modeling career, traveling the world while navigating the highs and lows of an unconventional career and personal struggles with past trauma. Therapy became the catalyst for her healing, which deepened through a profound experience of caregiving for a loved one. Through this, she witnessed the power of unconditional love and resilience. Grief ultimately became a doorway to transformation, leading her to rediscover the healing power of breathwork. Now, Marquita is dedicated to guiding others in reconnecting with their true selves, breaking through emotional barriers, and cultivating lives of alignment and fulfillment.

Samantha Tan is a Chinese-Canadian professional race car driver and team owner redefining what it means to be a woman in motorsport. As the only BMW M Motorsport Global Ambassador, she continues to make history both on and off the track, most recently being named to the 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Sports category.

Samantha’s racing journey began at just 16 years old in 2014. Determined to carve out her own path, she founded Samantha Tan Racing (ST Racing) in 2017, and under her leadership, the team rapidly became a dominant force. In 2019 and 2020, she led ST Racing to back-to-back championships in Pirelli World Challenge, becoming the first woman to do so. By 2021, she shattered barriers again, winning six championship titles and becoming the first Asian woman to secure a major international endurance racing title. As ST Racing advanced into GT3 competition in 2022, she and her team secured a historic first-ever overall victory for BMW’s M4 GT3 at the 12H Mugello—a landmark moment in global motorsport.

Unlike traditional sports, motorsport is not gender-segregated, so for each race Samantha must compete directly against men on equal footing. In nearly every series she is in, she is often the only woman on the grid, breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry. Currently, she is competing in IMSA, one of the most prestigious sports car series in the world, in the VP Racing Challenge.

As a speaker and advocate, Samantha is passionate about inspiring the next generation of women and minorities to chase their dreams fearlessly. From winning championships to gracing the pages of the world’s top media publications, such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Women's Health, she is proving that women can succeed in male-dominated spaces while embracing their individuality.
