Spring 2027

For Spring 2027, 3.1 Phillip Lim continues its exploration of cultivation, moving from the quiet work of planting, to the joy of seeing the garden in bloom. If Pre-Spring introduced The Gardener, a woman nurturing and tending, Spring finds her immersed in the world she has brought to life. 3.1 Head of Design, Michelle Rhee imagines a woman who is still rooted in practicality, but now with a lighter, more romantic spirit, indulging in the beauty she has worked to create.

Thus the garden comes fully into focus this season, with florals and greenery taking center stage. The collection introduces a softer, more feminine sensibility through rich moiré, playful ginghams, printed florals, broderie anglaise, and knitted bouclé stripes. Familiar utilitarian codes remain, but are refreshed through lighter fabrics, unexpected textures, and a more expressive palette. Elements recalling rainwear, like lightweight nylons and vinyl coatings, are reimagined with feminine touches, bringing a sense of function that feels decidedly more fun.

“This season, the garden has come to life,” says Rhee. “She’s done the work of planting and cultivating, and now she gets to enjoy it. There’s something playful about that shift; we wanted the clothes to feel a little more romantic, a little more unexpected, and full of the energy of everything in bloom.”

At the heart of the collection is the continued interplay between practicality and femininity. Silhouettes grounded in utility are softened with florals and delicate fabrications bringing a sense of nostalgia and romance. Technical fabrics like nylon and vinyl introduce an element of surprise, creating tension between the functional and the decorative.

Where Pre-Spring was about the process of building a garden, Spring is about inhabiting it. The woman at the center of the collection feels lighter and more carefree. She is less concerned with the work itself and more interested in experiencing the world she has created, mixing utilitarian silhouettes with feminine details for an effortless attitude that remains distinctly 3.1 Phillip Lim.

Spring 2027 celebrates the moment when the careful cultivation gives way to something more spontaneous: flowers opening, greenery spilling over, and a wardrobe that feels alive with possibility. It is a collection about enjoying what you’ve built. And having a little fun along the way.
